We often see people being swallowed by giant snakes in movies, but never in our worst nightmare could we imagine it happening in real life. However, it was the unfortunate fate of a 25-year old man in Indonesia.

Akbar Salubiro set off to harvest palm oil in a remote village on the island of west Sulawesi, Indonesia. However, the young man was unable to return home which raised suspicion from friends and relatives that he was missing.

Locals found a seven-meter python on Akbar’s back garden.

When they tried to look for him, they found a seven-meter long python sprawled out in Akbar’s back garden the next evening. Due to the large size of the snake, people had feared he might have been suffocated and swallowed.

They cut open the giant snake and found the lifeless body of Akbar inside.

Locals captured the sleeping snake and sliced it open using an 18-inch long hunting knife. Akbar’s dead body was slowly uncovered as the reptile’s leathery skin peel away; all of which was captured on video. His boots and clothing were all intact and identifiable.

Apparently, Akbar was choked and swallowed by the python.

“Akbar often departs from his home at around 7:00 pm to go to an oil palm plantation to bring harvesting equipment. “ Village Secretary Salubiro Junaidi said during an interview with Tribun Sulbar news. “People heard someone screaming, but they eventually ignored the noise.”

Reticulated pythons usually constrict their preys before swallowing them whole. They had been known to eat larger animals like cows, alligators, and even occasional human beings.
