A new footage released by BBC’s Planet Earth II has gained attention from netizens as it stirred different emotions in just a few minutes. It shows a baby iguana, or a hatchling, being chased by a gang of snakes and its seemingly miraculous escape.

The said clip was a part of the first episode of the long awaited return of the Planet Earth, a BBC documentary hosted by David Attenborough. It was filmed on Fernandina Island, in the Galapagos Island.

The first part of the clip which was not seen by most netizens showed a group of iguana hatchlings being ambushed by the deadly predators, a group of racer snakes.

The hatchlings were trying to make their way to their parents at the edge of Pacific Ocean. The documentary was filmed in June, the best feeding opportunity for the racer snakes.

And although the first part was described as gruesome and horrifying by viewers, the impossible feat of a particular baby iguana captured the amazement of netizens. It was almost caught twice by the predators before being able to successfully reunite with its parents. A lot of memes quickly spread on social media sites celebrating the successful escape of the iguana hatchling.
